HINT: Use Tapioca Flour to create non crumbly treats. It is grain free and gives a much better consistency that treats bakes with other flours. Less crumbs in your pockets and better for your dog. Give it a go with any of your favourite dog treat recipes.
Non Crumbly Liver Treats 750 grams raw liver 2 cup of tapioca flour 2 tbsps. oil Put ingredients in a blender/food processor and blend until smooth. Line a shallow baking tray with baking paper. Pour in the mix (it will be runny) and spread flat. It should be less than 1/2 inch thick . Bake at 180 deg c for 30 minutes or until done. Cool in pan. Then lift the whole thing out with the baking paper. Flip it over onto a large cutting board and peel of the baking paper. Use a pizza cutter to cut into appropriate sized treats for your dog. Easy Non Crumbly Brownies 1 cup of any meat or fish, raw or cooked. 2 eggs. Puree in a food processor. The stir in 1 cup tapioca flour, you may need more or less depending on how moist your meat source is. It should be a little sticky, but no so sticky you can't handle it. Place the mixture onto a baking tray which is lined with baking paper. Press the mixture down so that it is about 1/2 inch thick. Bake at 180 deg c for approx. 15 to 20 minutes if you used cooked meat, longer if you used raw, probably about 30 mins. When it is done, allow to cool, the cut into appropriate sized treats for your dog, Chicken and Cheese Drops - these are an excellent consistency, not crumbly and much loved. 300 g cooked chicken thigh fillets. Place in a food processor and whizz until fine. Place in a bowl and add: 1 cup of grated cheese 1 cup of quick oats 2 eggs 1 cup of plain flour 1 cup of water. Stir together adding more water if the mixture is not reasonable moist. Drop heaped teaspoonful's onto a baking tray which is lined with baking paper. Squash down. Bake at 180 deg c. for approx. 15 mins or until light golden brown. These make a fairly large treat that you can hold in your hand and break small pieces off easily to give to your dog. If you prefer you can cut them into small pieces ready to deliver. Sardine Cookies - these really smell but dogs seem to love them! Put into a blender 3 raw eggs 1 can of sardines packed in oil 1/2 a packet of dry savoury biscuits Mix until liquidy then pour onto a baking tray which is lined with baking paper and spread out. Bake at 180deg c. for approximately 20 minutes until it looks rubbery and light brown on top. Let cool then cut to size.
